Dilli Haat

An open-air shopper's paradise

Dilli Haat amalgamates the bits and pieces of Indian heritage in its Bazar which has a traditional rural setting. Stalls of handcrafts and handlooms, beautiful souvenirs and the intermingling of spices in the air from the delicacies of each region of India reveal the vibrancy in Indian art and richness in its culture.

With the ambience of a village market, it is a place where one can see the fusion of the crafts and culture. The delicacies of different states such as the hot Kahwas and spicy kebabs from Kashmir and the Gujrati Dhokla, one steps into a complex with an assured experience of delight and joy. With the magnificence of Indian art and heritage reverberating through the corners of the numerous stalls, Dilli Haat does not merely remain a market place where one buys and leaves- it becomes the medium for rural artists, who have preserved the indigenousness of Indian art, to interact with the urban clientele.

The stone roofs and brickwork lattice are the main architectural elements in Dilli Haat which create a traditional atmosphere- one which is revered by one and all. The rural setting is further enhanced with the small thatched roof cottages and kiosks, ‘diyas’ and clay pots, handbags and wooden structures.
